Barack Obama word association
Yesterday on the fox business channel. Barack Obama had an interview and the reporter decided to play the word association game with him. It’s an interesting clip and I like it because it’s a little more candid and you can see how a candidate really is in conversation. Of course he’s still guarded because he is on television. But It’s fun and hope you like it.
I personally think he came off well in the interview, Much better than his reaction to the supreme courts ruling on the second amendment. In my opinion he’s being way to careful trying to please everybody. He has a record of strict gun control and he should stick to his guns(no pun intended) when it comes to the issues. I know it would make for a tougher general campaign but the flip flopping is getting out of control. There is a lot of time left until November and hopefully Both Barack Obama and John McCain can settle down on what they really believe in. After all you guys are going for a sort of important job here. I’ll have a full story up on the 2nd amendment ruling with my opinion and the candidates reactions in a little while.

It’s nice to see Senator Obama respond naturally to these sort of unprompted questions. I have seen clips of him at town hall meetings where he stumbles badly when not scripted. I agree–he did well. Speaking of town halls, I do hope the Senator changes his mind and agrees to several of these sort of exchanges. I think they could be very helpful to voters. I have gotten to hate the “canned and scripted” feel to the traditional debates.
I would love to See Barack Obama and John McCain go head to head with real people asking real questions. I think A series of events like that would be great in helping people pick a candidate if they are on the fence. We all know that most of the debates are very scripted with the candidates getting the questions ahead of time. At that point we’re pretty much seeing a candidate that is a puppet for the speech writers.
While we’re talking about candidates’ press interviews, I have to mention the disgraceful story today from ABC news–and picked up by Matt Drudge–which accuses Senator McCain of “joking” about beating his wife. This is an example of “journalism” at its worst and is a despicable tactic. Jake Tapper should be ashamed of himself and reprimanded.
“So when did you stop beating your wife?” is a well-known figure of speech, used to point out when someone is asking a loaded question that cannot possibly be answered correctly, for the express purpose of trying to discredit the person being questioned.
It’s funny how a non-story can be attacked like this. Gotta love them slow news days. It’s obviously an old joke and people really have lost their senses of humor.

came off well? Hmm. Yeah, I think he was not all that informed regarding world affairs but he could come up with a draft-pick in milliseconds.. not good…
