Censorship In Politics
Today I was informed by one of our readers that a blog of one of the other readers was deleted. http://drgoldblatt.blogspot.com/ is the blog in question. There was no reason for it to be deleted and was well within the rules of blogspots terms of service. The problem that Dr. Goldblatt I believe is he was critical of Barack Obama. Seems that a new generation of political douchbaggery where you try and destroy the works of other if they don’t agree with you. It’s happening on both the Republican and Democratic side.
People seem to forget that this country was built on people seeking freedom. Our first amendment is one of our most powerful tools as citizens. There are many countries around the world where people don’t have the right of freedom of speech. Here is a general overview from cornell talking about the 1st Amendment http://topics.law.cornell.edu/wex/First_amendment
It’s a very good read and people should take it to heart. Remember people once you start taking away other peoples rights you’re in danger of losing your own. Please if you disagree with somebody fight them on the issues or just ignore them. I can’t stand censorship and It’s been happening a lot in this election. If a candidate has flaws it’s a good thing for us the American people to know about them. I know that people get heavily invested in their candidates but remember people they are just humans and they do have flaws. Flaws that should be know since they are running for the most powerful job in the world.
After I get the main blog sorted out and running strong. I’m going to open up a hosted blog service so that people can let their feelings be known without fear of being censored. It will be open to Democrats, Republicans and Independents. Of course things will have to be kept legal. No posting of copyrighted material or illegal pics. But you will be able to post anything that you want as far as your opinions on politics or anything in general. You won’t have to worry about somebody trying to bring you down because of your opinion because I will fight for your rights and I know my host will back me up as they did when people initially tried to take this site down.

I hope some readers will please come forth with instances of “scrubbing” from the McCain campagin. I have experienced it a lot from the Obama side. This is the first presidential election where I have ever run into blogs, articles, and, mostly, videos, just disappearing from the inernet. It’s gotten so bad that some sites actually say “hurry, view now” before they are scrubbed. For example, there was a certain video that was “purported” to show Senator Obama in an “excited” state. The video disappeared from at least four websites. Finally, one site administrator was able to locate it at the point of origin–CNN. Apparently, a major news organization is still safe from this unconstitutional practice. Now just for the record–I did need to see the above-mentioned video. However, what angers me is the censorship! What the hell is going on? How is this happening? The internet is really the last bastion of free speech. The one and only place where every person can be HEARD. Every person who is part of the world wide web should be up in arms over censorship.

Google is pretty awesome and allows cached views of previously shut down sites. Googling http://drgoldblatt.blogspot.com/ and hitting the “Cached” link returns (WARNING:NSFW) http://209.85.215.104/search?q=cache:H6tnQf06pLUJ:drgoldblatt.blogspot.com/+http://drgoldblatt.blogspot.com/&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=1&gl=us&client=firefox-a in my browser, which breaks above ToS snips, among others.
Yes, this political blog has commercialized porn pictures. I don’t think I’d call google out on censorship quite yet.
