McCain Adviser: Terror Attack Would Benefit Candidate

There is a big scandal over McCain advisor Charlie Black making some statements the other day to fortune magazine. “a fresh terrorist attack ‘certainly would be a big advantage to him.’” ummm I know it’s being called outrageous by John Kerry said that by even thinking of an attack in political terms, Mr. Black was practicing ‘the worst of the Rove-Bush fear playbook’. Ok, But isn’t this a scandal that isn’t really a scandal? When did it become bad to tell the truth and state what most people are thinking? It would benefit McCain in my opinion and if there was an attack. Sure it’s not a pleasant thought.

But it doesn’t make it any less valid when you look at the political makeup of this country. We have gotten way to politically correct and we’re afraid to offend anybody even if it’s the truth. Communication is they way we’re going to get out of this mess that we’re in. Sure we won’t like everything that we hear, but at least the truth will get out and maybe we can actually come up with solutions to the problems we face. Ignoring the fact that we may be attacked isn’t going to solve the problem. We’re a target and ignoring the problem isn’t going to help anybody but the enemy. If Barack really wants to solve this issue how about instead of whining about peoples statements they fight back with their plan on how they will stop terrorism.

We’re just at that sort of “pissy” stage in the election cycle. There’s not a lot going on until the conventions, and then the debates, so people are ready to pounce on anything and miscontrue it 100 different ways to try and stir something up to their respective advatages.

Actually, I disagree with Mr. Black and believe the opposite. Ann Coulter has been preaching for years that President G.W. Bush’s foreign policy has been a “success” since there has NOT been another terrorist attack on US soil since 9-11. If that is indeed the conservative thought pattern, then a US attack would be counter-productive to a Republican presidential nominee. ???

Here is McCain’s actual response: “Questioned about Black’s comments during a news conference, McCain said, ‘I cannot imagine why he would say it. It’s not true. I’ve worked tirelessly since 9/11 to prevent another attack on the United States of America. My record is very clear.’”
