Blog Update

Tuesday, June 24th, 2008

Just wanted to let you all know that I added the ability to quote peoples posts in the comments. Should make the longer threads easier to read. If you want an avatar to go with your posts go to http://en.gravatar.com/  sign up and you will be able to upload an avatar and link it to the email address you signed up to this blog with. The avatar should then automatically show up whenever you post. If there are any issues with either the reply function of the avatars let me know at xclusive@fightthesmears.org and i’ll see what I can do to fix the problem. Hopefully by next week the advertising campaign for this blog will be in full swing. Just judging on how to best spend the advertising dollars i’ve set aside for this. Then after the small test run I’ll be increasing the budget as needed. If you have any suggestions on how to make the blog better don’t be afraid to email me and let me know. I am always open to suggestions.

Sorry for the downtime

My computer crashed yesterday but now back to your usually scheduled programing. I’ll have a new computer in the next few days to assure that there is no downtime between posts like yesterday and today.

Official launch of FightTheSmears.org is here

Just wanted to make a post that we’re all ready to go here and we plan on keeping with our mission of calling this election right down the middle. John McCain and Barack Obama will both get a fair shake here and hopefully we can educate people and help them make a good decision when it comes to picking the next President of the United States of America.

We’re going to go for a nice mix of facts and humor. I’m sure I’ll offend some people if I find a funny pic of Barack Obama or John McCain and post it. Well that’s just to bad and they shouldn’t take things so seriously.  I’ll of course mark the posts with the humor tag so it’s not confused with the real news stories. The site is going to evolve over time i’m sure. It’s all about finding the right balance and seeing what works.

I’ve gotten a lot of hate mail for this site already and a few rude phone calls yelling at me for having the site. I just tell them to give me a chance and if they don’t like what they see feel free to hate me then. If they are afraid of the truth than I am of the belief that this site will be more useful than I though. It all started as a joke but thanks to the encouragement of my wife and the fine people that have written me in support of the site and my freedom of speech. I’m going to make this fun and we will have prizes and I’ll be eventually having interviews with some politicians that you will find only here.

So thank you and I look forward to growing this site with all of you.
