Grant Park Acceptance speech

Wednesday, November 5th, 2008

Here is the video from Barack Obamas Acceptance speech last night at Grant Park. I thought it was a moving and honest. It’s going to take a lot of work to get things going in the right direction. A lot of his supporters have been chanting his Change mantra like it was going to be an easy thing. It was nice for Barack to be honest last night and let them know that it is probably going to take a full term to really start making things change. I hope he keeps up with the honesty and works as hard as he possibly can to get things turned around even faster.

Barack Obamas Fathers Day Speech

On fathers day, Barack Obama gave a speech at the Apostolic Church of God on Chicago’s South Side. I think the biggest message to come out of this speech is that he wants black men to take responsibility for their children. I think this is great and needed in all races. I’ve long been a proponent for holding parents responsible for their children. Right now we have so many punks out there because of lack of fathers in the household. We allowed ourselves to fail these children. I’m not sure when it because acceptable to father a child and forget about them but it’s a sad fact of life. Our school system and penal system would improve if more men, Black, White, Hispanic, Asian and every other race had to be responsible for their children.
