Barack Obama finally get the endorsement of Al Gore
Not sure what took him so long, Maybe he was saving a humback whale from the melting ice caps. But Al Gore has finally decided to support Barack Obama. At a rally on Monday, June 16th. I’m shocked that it’s taken this long for Al Gore to come out and support Barack. Gotta love the political tradition of waiting ot see who the winner is before picking the side. Here is a video of the endorsement after the break.
It’s going to be a fun summer now that we have most of the big endorsements out of the way and hopefully we can stick to the issues this election. It’s going to be fun seeing John McCain and Barack Obama go head to head. I just hope that it’s more than one or two times and we can all see both candidates for who they really are. It would be fun if we could have a debate where neither one were allowed a speech writer but we know that won’t happen. But at least on the one on one debates we will get a clearer view into which one of these men would be a better President of the United States of America.

I would be most interested to hear from anyone for whom this endorsement made a difference? Which leads to the larger question: do endorsements make any difference at all? For instance, did the fact that Chuck Norris supported Huckabee really swing any voter(s)? Just curious.
I understand why Gore couldn’t endorse him sooner. He was Bill’s VP. He’s gotta either support Hillary or wait until its over. He waited until it was over Frankly, I would have had more respect for him if he supported Hilary earlier, but once she lost then threw his support to Obama. Loyalty does count for something (though some may believe not much). And he could have come out with the endorsement last week…maybe Friday.
“Loyalty does count for something.” Wayne, you are my kinda guy! It damn well should and there is precious little of it to be found anywhere–much less Washington where everyone seems to be consumed with acquiring their own power base.
The lack of loyalty toward the Clintons from the Democratic Party is unbelievable. Apparently they lost count of how many two-term presidents they have had in the last 40 or so years? Try ONE. That alone should count for something in a party that has been staggeringly unsuccessful and out of touch with the mainstream.
